Subject: Underarmour Question

Looking at getting a set of the Underarmour cold weather gear for fall fishing this year. Question for those of you who have worn it: what is the difference between the Cold Weather leggings, and the Cold Weather Hunting leggins? The hunting ones are on sale at the place I might buy them, the others arent. I'd love to save the $30, but dont want to not get what I need (super long underwear for extreme cold fishing).

The camo pattern???????

Shouldn't be any difference, cold weather is cold weather, if you are hunting or not. The hunter stuff could be lighter as I would think hunters walk more and therefore create additional heat.

Maybe they've beefed up their long underwear in the last year or so but the pair I have aren't good unless you are moving around. If you're sitting still they are not warm. Perfect for pheasant hunting but bad for or fishing unless you're river-dancing in the boat in between casts!!

I have UA Cold and it's ok as a base layer. I use it for fall fishing and ice fishing. You'll have to wear layers over it and if you do that, its fine. If you just wear the UA and nothing over it while sitting still, you will get cold. Buy a thick fleece top and pant to wear over the top and you'll be fine.

UA is good for sports but not so good for just sitting in the boat. it removes sweat and puts it on the
outside layer and keeps you warm.
its neat when you run in the winter and it forms a layer of frost on
the out side and you cant even feel it on your skin.

I would think there would be no difference between the standard cold weather and the hunting cold weather.

I baught a pair last year and used them through rifle season, and through the ice fishing season. In my opinion they are better than standard long underwear. They were just fine for sitting from sunup to sundwn in the treestand, and I get cold easily. I also ice-fished in -10° temps last winter and I was fine. They don't fell like you would expect them to though. You are not going to get the toasty warm feeling, but rather a cool feeling. It was a bit to get use to in the beginning, but once you do you don't notice it much. I could see how some may think they don't work, but I haven't gotten cold since I started wearing them.
