Whats the advantage of having two hooks on a bucktail? I think two hooks can only make it more difficult in releasing the fish. Being a high percentage hooking lure already, is the second hook really needed? The tandem models I can see creates a larger profile in the water, but are they really more effective? Thoughts or opinions. Kdawg

Most of my bucktails are tandem hook models, but by far my best hooking % is def w/ the single treble bucher 700, go figure, maybe because I use it mainly for slow retrieves and burn my other favorites. I don't worry about it too much. I also like the vibrax, mepps maribous and harrassers.

Two hookers usually mean a bigger target for the fish, that's all, sez me. Bucher 700's rock for me during the day, but after dark, I move to larger thumpers that ride slower and higher, like GhostTails.

Note - MuskieE proved to me that during the day, those little cheap-a$$ Buchertails work. I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen him move the fish.

From another perspective two hookers means twice the bucks, but you get what you pay for.
