This past weekend had the pleasure of taking Bytor and his buddy Dan out on the their trip on tonka. We hit the water friday nite and moved 1 upper 30 fish on a HR, then Dan had big girl swirl behind the nimmer swimmer and that was about extent of our action friday nite. Saturday faced with no cloud slight breeze, and water temp dipping to 56 when we hit the water, few pike that got our hopes up, one hooked in the gill plate that kept staying deep only to dissapoint us when it was the other spotted fish. Dan lost a fish on a dawg, moved a healthy mid 40 on a dawg, then I got popped on a dawg and the day ended with no more action.

Sunday hit the water second spot Dan had another nice fish swirl behind the pacemaker, next spot I got hooks into a mid 40 only to come unpinned just outside the frabill. Then we just pounded out the last few hours with no more action. Got home and got a voicemessage that Josh just move 3 fish on a spot, we didn't miss nothing they didn't move another fish sunday.

Pretty tough weekend on tonka, sunny skies, plenty of Judge Smails running around in their pleasure cruisers. Lake is starting to turn. Talked to couple other guys out on tonka and they had nothing much to show for their efforts beside working on their fall tans.

It was great meeting Troy and Dan and look forward to sharing the Ranger with them next years, we will get you on some fish. Thanks for the BS Willies, will be giving them some time on the water. Hope the accomodations were tolerable, so much for weatherman, what ever happened to the cloud and rain that were forecasted. Maybe we should have tried trolling #18 rapala's.

Take care

Troyz

PS-Great Job Troy on setting up the Mason Auction and it was truly a pleasure sharing the boat with you this past weekend

Troy, we both enjoyed the weekend even though the fish didn't cooperate. We learned some new water....there sure is a lot of nice structure on Tonka. You guys need to work on a post Labor day ban of the rec boaters, man we learned what Tonka rollers are as I have never scene so many HUGE boats on a body of water. Those yachts belong on Lake Superior, not an inland lake.

Looking forward to sliming that Ranger next year. Give your wife a big thank you, I really appreciated the beer.

Good luck with your tournament endeavors this fall. Get that Threepeat on Tonka and then go win another Ranger on the Fox chain.

Thanks again, for putting up with a couple of Badgers for the weekend.

I too was on Tonka and could not believe the boat traffic for Oct. Guess thats what an 80 plus degree day in Oct. will do. Found it quite enjoyable though to be out casting, listening to the Twins and enjoying a nice fall day. We did experience one window of action and actually boated two fish on back to back casts off the same structure. We just released a 40 incher and the very next cast a healthy 49 incher crushed the bait in the first two cranks of the reel. We were able to get her in the net as well after some great acrobatics.

That was the only excitement we had all day other than the couple in the small boat stark naked going at it in plain daylight with lots of boats getting a show.
Guess it was a good day for lots of things not just fishing!!!!!

Hope the up comming full moon doesn't happen right at turnover. I expect some good action if we can avoid that

Thats my report,

Dean
