Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | Hey gang, I just put together the first protptype of a giant sized trolling spinerbait with a weighted wood body and two marabous on stainless steel wire. The bait is 13" long from the nose to the tip of the marabou tail! This pattern is a Mooneye but also looks almost identical to a Cisco. I'm still debating whether to add another treble to the wood body near the head. Not a bad idea probably. Hope to stick something huge with this during my Thanksgiving weekend on the Ottawa River! Posts: 113 | Hey Mike, are you selling the big spinnerbaits? If so , what are you asking for them? And just so I know, what is the shipping you sent the bait through?

Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | I will be selling the bigger spinnerbaits. I'm still working on the price. It's quite a lot of work to build those bad boys. What I am trying to achieve with these big baits is the illusion of a small school of baitfish. Your bait was shipped via Canada Post and should arrive a week to ten days after being shipped. (Customs can sometimes take their sweet time, but that's rare.) The package went out this Monday.

Sounds Good Mike. I am pumped about the victim. Yeah, a school of baitfish makes sense. Out of curiouslity, what is the weight on the big spinnerbait?

I rarely comment on a new bait, but that one is truly innovative. I would love to hear about how it works from a number of serious fisherman who've used it over time. You may have just come up with the lure of the decade. Nice work.

Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | Wow, thanks for the kind words! Not sure how innovative it is but the bait is well thought out for sure. I just tested it yesterday and it runs exactly as planned. I wanted to have a large presence to simulate a small school of baitfish when it is being trolled. I'll post a video clip of it in action shortly. Weights will vary depending on the particular body shape and model. I will make sure that the baits won't roll over at higher speeds though. By the way, the wire loop line attachment has since been revised...I'd bent it downd instead of upwards when I was making this prototype! (OOPS!) Mike, you suppose it is too heavy to cast all day? Not a big troller, but I love casting big spinnerbaits.

Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | The one pictured weighs 7.8 oz so it's not really as heavy as I thought. I think it's castable for sure but having two large blades pulling through the water might tire you out after a while. Other models may weigh slightly more or less depending on the body shape.
