Posts: 106 Location: Des Plaines, IL | I've been using the rods for 4 years now and haven't have a problem yet, on the other hand I recently started having a problem with one of the reels. For the price I really can't complain and I'll be interested to see what BassPro will have to say about it when I bring it in. Jim

Posts: 1185 Location: Iowa | I used to have the 8'0" heavy model that was extendable and I loved the thing...the only reason I don't have it anymore is because it was stolen from my car about 3 months ago...loved it though...caught my biggest fish to date with that rod and it handled like a champ... Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Hey I was just there, too. Didn't buy anything, though. Just browsed while my Wife and Daughter shopped for clothes. I owe Slamr a Suick from the Bear/Packer game, but they had very few. Glad they replaced your reel. Kevin

Posts: 109 | I have 3 of the Maina rods and reels. They are okay and have fished well, but I am in the process of upgrading. I bought 2 Diawa Luna 300's and will be mating them to a couple of nice rods soon (still trying to figure out what I am wanting). The maine rods are okay but I do prefer something lighter. I had no issues with the rods, but the reels I had a few glitches but regular cleaning and lubing took care of most of it.

I just returned 2 rod / reel combos yesterday to Bass Pro - the bucktail rod I really liked but the other rod I have learned over time was pretty heavy - they are very solid rods and will last a long time. That said - the reels are real pieces of $%^&*. I kinda begged them to not let me exchange them both for the third time - it has been an annual event - the last set of reels only made it about 30 minutes casting before each had a separate part fail. Anyway - Bass Pro was great about it and made it right for me!!
