Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | I know a lot of people do this but ive started making some bucktails and was wondering what people think of them. Also I was wondering if the hook is better placed above the lure body like in the first picture or below like in the second picture or if it doesnt matter. Personally i like above the lure body because the hook doesnt get caught in the skirt. If you want to see better photos you can go to www.xanga.com/dockboylures

Location: Minnesota | What size blades are you using? Looking good! Can't go wrong with the good double bladed bucktail. |

Location: Medford, WI | Could you tell me where you got the skirts from or if you make them yourself? I want to start making a few of my own and it's just a matter of getting the right materials and whether I want to attempt tying hair/feather or buy pre-tied/skirted ones. As far as the hook placement; I'm no expert, but personally I would choose the one further away. Same as your reasoning and then when you catch that pig you don't have to worry about another set of hooks getting in it if the fish is hooked with the back hook. Great looking bait overall.

| I have a question about the use of a clevis to attach a hook. Are they really that strong? Other wise they are good looking. Tim |

Location: nationwide | I agree with Steve Jonesi. Clevis's are not to be used for hook connectors. I would recommend Wolverine Tackle triple split rings.

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | bought the skirt material in precut single pads from stamina and then i put 5 pads together with the rubberband to make the skirt. I like it because you can mix a lot of colors into one skirt and its really easy. And for the clevis thing, should i do it like the cowgirls do it where its just a split ring around the wire? |
