| Can any folks give me you opinions on the lures make by Odessey? They seem to carried in every tackle shop in Illinois but, I've yet to see anyone use them or talk about them on this board.

| I love the new Skitter Critter! The Dragon Lizards are great material and hold up to the toothy ones! I'm not a Pig fan but I know of alot of people that love to throw them. I've also got a buddy that...nevermind.

| I agree with Cady, the new Skitter Critter is great. The Dragon lizard is as tough as they come. I have not had much action on the Pig up to now, but have a couple of friends that have done well on them. Of course my nod goes to the Porky Jig. I helped in the design of this jig so I am somewhat biased.

| I can make the Pig dance! One needs a 7 1/2 footer at least, and move the bait in tiny little snaps that walk it back and forth, and twitches that make it rise and fall.
The Undertaker is similar in method, but somewhat easier to run.[:bigsmile:] |

| I've actually had pretty good success with the Pigs. 14% of my muskies have come on this bait. Only a Mepps bucktail has caught more fish for me. The first day I ever used one, I got two 37" fish within 30 minutes of each other. This was before I really knew how to work the bait in what I felt was an effective way. I would continue to break the surface quite often during the retrieve. However, this breaking of the surface is what often times triggers the fish to strike (And did with both of these fish). So it's just a matter of what's effective at that given time.
I used to think that in order to get the bait to work well, that it took a very slow retrieve. And it can be very productive doing this. (Especially early in the year or later in the fall.) But through some experimenting I've been able to use a pretty rapid retrieve, and as Sworrall said, get it to dance.
What works for me is to use VERY short and quick twitches. If you were to be watching me work the bait, you may not even notice that I'm jerking or twitching the bait if you're just watching my rod tip. Even just a really quick turn of the reel handle will work. And don't worry if it breaks the surface once in awhile. It could be what's needed in order to turn a follower into an eater.
Overall, I've found the best times to throw the Pig is in the first month of the season, and then again near turnover and after turnover. During the summer, for whatever the reason, I haven't done nearly as well with it. It's a good search lure in the summer for me. They just tend to shy away from eating it during that time.

| You can't go wrong with any of the pig cranks they work great. If you get a jointed pig crankbait, I recommend bending the lip slightly more vertical for better action. If you get a pig glider, get the original because they are easier to work then the suspenders. Once you get the hang of a glide bait, then get a suspender. |

| Always make sure you have a Dragon Lizard on a Porky Jig as a followup.

| Odyssey????? Hmmmm! I cant beleive there are so many beleivers in this lure. Before you go crazy and buy a bunch of these. Try reef hawgs or Eddies. They are 1000x easier to use. You can probably pick them up on this swap board for some left over worm guts or some knotted up fising line. I had about 8 Odyssey pork products from tourrneys and stuff, some fella at the Chicago Swap meet took them all. I couldnt have been happier!
