| Has anyone heard what the fishing is like in Hayward area? I will be going up July 14th-21st. What have the water temps been like, weeds,any hot baits? It has been real hard to find anything out. thanks!! |

| Just got back from the area. Fishing was decent on the smaller darker lakes, fish from 32" to 42". Fished the deeper clear lakes at nite due to the un-real boat traffic.
(Boat traffic at nite was also pretty intense)
Muskies were not co-operative but caught some walleyes on cranks up on the rock bars. If you can, you may want to check out some of the smaller lakes that do not see the boat traffic. |

| Thanks for the reply. I'm actually staying on a smaller, numbers lake. But I am also going on the Chipppewa Flowage as well. I appreciate the report, and will let you know how I did. |

| I did okay. The weather was stable, hot and humid with no wind on the lakes all week. Water temps in the 80's. Most of the weeds were to the surface. I caught 6 total fish. 2 on the Chip, and 4 on smaller lakes. The night fishing seemed to be the best caught 2 on Top Raiders. Jerk baits through the weeds got a few fish too. The fish weren't moving that well, so I would suggest getting into the weeds and forcing them to bite. |
