| I've got the itch, especially after seeing Chad Cain's pic on the front page. Wondering, how far I would have to travel (from the Twin Cities) to find open water to fish for muskies, legally?
I've been tempted to head down to Pool 4 on the Mississippi for some open water, but I don't know about muskies there (is there a fishable population; is it legal to fish for them now?) I could always go there for walleyes but would rather fish for skis,of course.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Bill |

| Carbondale IL is where Lake Kinkaid is. About 1hr south of St.louis in IL. I would say 6 to 7 hrs from the Twin cites. Its 7 from Milwaukee. I have been there twice.
Very nice water, kinda like Canada.
Other lakes open, Shebyville IL and Cave Run KY |
