Has anyone seen the new Magnum Real Fish yet? When the regular Real Fish came out this past winter, I know a lot of people couldn't wait for them to make a bigger one. I got a shipment in from Brad yesterday with a bunch of the magnums. These things look awesome! They won't be available in mass production until 2007. But there will be a few retailers that get in a one time shipment for 2006. Musky Tackle Online received theirs yesterday. Attached is a picture of a size comparison of the regular one and the new magnum one. If the picture doesn't work for you, you can check it out here as well.

I should note also that the hooks on the magnums are bigger and stronger than the original ones.

I was thinking the same thing. There is no way that i could throw 9 ounces for more than a couple casts!!

9 ounces is definitely a big bait. But the magnum bulldawgs are 7 ounces as well. If you get the right equipment with the magnum dawgs it makes a huge difference, which will be the same thing with the magnum real fish. I use a 8 foot extra heavy BPS rod for my bulldawg rod. It works great. Loads the bait great and makes casting it relatively easy. When I used to throw my magnum dawgs with a shorter rod I thought the same thing - it sucked to throw a bait that big for very long. Now it makes throwing a mag dawg for hours a breeze.

No word on any magnum patterns other than the sucker and bullhead right now. I imagine it's in the works. But I couldn't tell you if they'll be available next year or when they might be coming.

I am sure it will catch fish as the smaller one does but after tax and shipping the total came to $25. Totally outrages for a rubber bait! Do I get a new one when the tail gets ripped off by a 24" pike?

They are a big chunk of rubber, the tend to run deeper 4-5 deeps on normal retrieve.

Just purchased mine yesterday from MTO and am going to give it a workout this weekend. I love the action of the smaller version and cant wait to throw the magnum.
