The E-cell is a now federally recognized rechargeable hydrogen energy cell power source, not a NiMH battery. E-cell incorporates a newer technology that is second generation to the NiMH batteries. These are US government recognized as hydrogen fuel cells, do not overcharge, do not need to be charged in 'banks' or 'sets', and are advanced from the NiMH batteries out there. They do not overheat and lose discharge capacity permanently as a result. There is no fear of leaking or exploding if left permanently in a charger. Yes, the website needs updating, and that is in process which is why I mentioned that earlier in this thread. There's LOTS more coming from the E-cell folks, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet.

Imagine if you will a window screen, and each 'cell' of the screen represents a charged portion of the available hydrogen charged 'grid'. A fully charged E-cell will discharge a 'cell' at a time until fully discharged, holding full capacity for output until totally discharged. No dischage curves, not as much diminishing ability after each charge.

I'll add or correct more if necessary as I learn more about this product.

Good question, lambeau, I'm sure this group has the sport market targeted, we'll have to see what's in store.

Called them the other day. They never called me back.

I called them again today. They are basically out of product, and said they are having supplier issues.

I am on the call list, and they will call me when they have what I am looking for. I just hope it's not too long, cause I'm headed up North in about 2 weeks.

OK, I finished the use tests I was doing, and here are the unscientific but accurate results:
In Sue's digital Camera---Duracell NiMH 2050 mAh, fully charged....27 pictures and 4 days in the camera, to dead; went dead trying to take a picture of a 41" muskie for a team during league. Camera has some sort of problem, will drain batteries when not in use.
In a standard bulb flashlight, 2 4VO 5 A bulb, 2 hours, 3 minutes--got very dim the last few minutes and finally faded out

E-cell
Sue's Camera/E-cell, full charge, 1500mAh---51 pictures and 11 days to dead ( that camera has some sort of very low draw all the time, I think) Went dead at last shot taken on the Goon.
Same flashlight---3 hours and 7 minutes--just plain went out like a switch was flipped, interesting and exactly as Matt described when I talked to him about how these things work.

I think they work as advertised. The new web property will be up soon; Stowmaster/E-cell for the outdoors Market. I'll post a link when it's ready to go. And, no, I am not anywhere near enough of a fishing personality to be an E-cell Pro, I just am easily fascinated by new technology. If they sell a milliion dollars worth of these things in the next week I make exactly.....let me add it up for the fellow over east of me here....zero.

Hate to say it, but you have a problem with your camera, should be getting several times out of it than you have.
But the new ECELL looks very promising, can't wait.

I got a set of these early last week. I charges them up and put a pair in my digital camera that is notorious for draining standard batteries even when shut off. It ussually will burn out a pair in about 4 bays even if I do not take any pictures and leave it off! I put the Ecells in last Wendsday and have taken about 12 pictures with it and the battery indicator is showing 1/2 battery charge left. So far I am sold on thes and I will be getting more of them in different sizes.

Yup, I know Sue's camera has a problem eating up energy cells. Looks like a new D50 is in order!

Got mine yesterday.
Charging bank, 8 AA's, 8 AAA's
Charged the AA's and put them in my camera and went on a shooting spree.
182 pictures later, and I still have 3 bars on the battery icon. When I coverd the FLW tourney, I had to change out my other rechargables during the middle of a day of shooting picures during the event. Usually 120 pictures or so.
Can't wait to put them in my daughter's electronic gizmos. I'm impressed as hell with them so far.
I even got better range with my walkie-talkies.
