Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | D, thanks. Nope, 44" on the ruler. I was kneeling down in the boat, and probably why it looks a bit bigger. Maybe a little bit held out too now that I look at it. Going out tonight after work here. Hope to catch her mom. The T-Turn gliders really work nicely. We've been doing well with them on pike and muskies here in central WI and I can't wait to try them in MN and canada this year. They have a nice profile, easy to work(wife likes that), and are good hookers. We like to float the smaller rivers and like the fact that there is no down time with the T-Turn like there is with alot of gliders. When done gliding and pausing a hole, you can just simply reel it back to the boat, and it wiggles and wanders the whole way back. Very cool bait. He makes a smaller version too. Another tool to add to my favorite Nitro lineup. Edited by Reef Hawg 6/21/2006 3:16 PM

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | The color is a Helin Frog pattern that I had Greg paint up for me. I like that pattern on the dark water. Not spotteds that I know of, though some are in there now.

Posts: 350 Location: WESTERN WI | Nice looking fish. I checked out the web page and the baits look like I may own one soon. I see you have a custom color, "Schillinger Special" that is on the page. What type of leader do you prefer when using glide baits like manta's, T-Turns or Nitro's? I have been experimenting with different types of straight wire leaders but prefer the lightest ones which I think give the baits a better hangtime with near neutral bouyancy. (some leaders sink the front of the bait faster) Also how do you like the Dunwright measure board? I find it stores easy and is more accurate than the stick versions that are out there, I usually throw some water on it to prevent any of the protective slime to come off during measuring. I bought mine from Todd Forcier during the PMC. Edited by Got Esox? 6/22/2006 12:15 PM

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I also like the lightest straight leaders I can get away with for action. The only troulbe with leaders too light, is the propensity to kink when the least amount of pressure is applied(usually when the lure is fouled then jerked). I split the difference. I make my own leaders, but couldn't tell you off the top of my head which lb.age I use. Does 136# sound familiar?? The special color should really be called the Schauer special, as it is the favorite color of my friend Chuck. I just asked him to paint it for me. Hard to find red baits. I love the bump board. I don't take them all out of the water, but when I do, it is the best thing for the fish, and getting it wet first, like you said, helps alot. I used to use a big piece of plastic that a friend made for me, and that worked well too, but not as well as the Dunnright. Expensive thing though. I'd think someone could make one of these for about half that..... hmmm...

Posts: 350 Location: WESTERN WI | Yes, I knew the day would come where I would not spend another dime on leaders and make my own. That day is nearing to be very, very close. I have already gone through ~3 dozen leaders this season and at 2-3 bucks a piece, that adds up. Attempting to put my bait where no sane individual would try has accounted for about half of those, wear, tear and fish and the rest. I will keep #136 in mind when I make my first wave of investments to start making my own leaders. I only have about a dozen left. The Dunwright board board was definatly a little steeply priced, even with the "judge boat" discount at the PMC. I see that some of yours pics are photo shopped. I do the same thing. It is very hard to take a picture in a small water systems and rivers or even large bodies of water for that matter with out some "landmark" or noticeable feature in it. We work hard enough for fish, spots etc. plus I prefer less traffic on my favorite waters. Edited by Got Esox? 6/22/2006 9:29 PM

Posts: 723 | kneeling down for pics works pretty well too, if youre a bigger guy, this also helps the fish look a little better vs. 6'4" holding 34", kinda funny looking. "NICE" fish Jason! hehe

Posts: 331 Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Jason, First off nice fish! Second, in watching the videos on the web page the bait looks to be worked within a foot of the surface. Is this how you work the bait? Or can you get the bait to work deeper? Looks like a great bait for the river! Ed
