Posts: 327 | First off I have to give a big thanks to Steve Nd Sue for their hospitality at the outing !! I have been in the U.P. for the past week and have not had the chance to thank everyone who made it possible !! I will be back next year for sure !!! I raised a fatty while I was in MI. but no hook up . It was great to get out and fish with my son every day of the trip , he caught his first pike and filled our liveweel for the fish fry !! He got to see his first Muskie , although it was only about 14 inches long !! He got a kick out of it though , now he wants to see one in the boat which will hopefully happen soon !! Was a great time at the outing and a great time with the family in the U.P. eh !!

Location: Athens, Ohio | I fished a small West Va. lake for a while on Saturday until the hot sun was too much. I've fished this lake before but never put in at the ramp on the up-river part of the lake. Water was muddy and only clearing in some spots, lows of 74 and highs of 80* in ths shallows. No muskies seen, I did get a few small bass on Mepps bucktails. One fellow fisherman said he'd put 30 bass in the boat that morning, so I knew they were moving. It was fun to explore and I lost my favorite Muskie Treats bait when new line on a reel backlashed, dug deep into the reel and snapped the line at the spool, dunking MT into 15 feet of water. OUCH! Lost a good leader with that flub, too. m

Posts: 239 Location: Madison, WI | Match fishing yesterday went well. Dodging storms throughout the day we put 4 in the boat. Many other missed opportunities! Had action from pike and bass as well. Certainly a very memorable day on the water! Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Posts: 1906 Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Just got back from several days of guiding, and the fish are finally showing some signs of getting out of the funk. We boated at least one fish each day, but Thursday was the day to be out. 8 fish were boated on Thurs., and only two were under 40". The largest fish was 46". Almost all the fish to visit my boat were caught fishing suspended, and the majority of those fish were running high in the water column. In fact a 42" found the Frabill after eating a Rylure Globe over 37' of water. Way cool! Some fish were caught over flats with some weed on them, including another 46" fish on a Lee Lure Fish Stick. With the exception of Thursday the fishing has been tough. We have been fishing from sun-up to sun-down in order to boat a fish or two. Don't give up and keep plugging away. The suspended bite is going really well on some of the cisco based lakes, while the sucker/perch based lakes are still not producing the suspended bite all that well yet. Mid day fishing is still proving to be very tough, and the evening bite was best. There hasn't been a definite bait preference since the following baits all had fish eating them: Lee Lure Fish Stick, Mepps Marabou, RyLure Globe, Mag Bulldawg, Reg. Bulldawg, Triple D, Jointed Reef Digger, Warner Crankbait, and the Nitro. Water temps were around 68-72° depending on the lake, and time of day.
