Jacob aka Fisher1 was diagnosed with Brain Cancer a few weeks ago. He has since had surgery, but things didn't turn out for the best. Jacob has since had seizures, and is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Jacob has decided to spend his last days with his family rather than in Iowa City getting Ki mo. Dr.'s can't say it would help if he went through the treatment. Jacob only has a few months if that left with us.

Jacob is a young man at 27 has a wife and two lovely kids that will need help paying the bills when he is fishing in Heaven.

I would like to ask for us fisherman to help another fisherman in need. Even if you can only send a few dollars, it will help if we all pitch in. You can make checks out to:

Jacob Yarolim Fund
53 Yale Ave
Maquoketa, IA 52060

There will also be a benefit for Jacob here shortly at the Eagles Club in Maquoketa. I will post more info as I get it.

Fishermen helping Fishermen

Reels,
I'll do what I can when I get back into the office to raise a few bucks to help.

You know that I have some lures to donate.
Auction or outright sale with the money going to his family.
This could be another yearly thing with a guy so young and having kids.
Time for the MFers to step up again.

Ron, if it's a benefit auction type deal, put me down for 10 lures and let me know where to send them.

Thanks a lot guys! Every little bit will help.

The benefit will be July 9th at the Eagles Club in Maquketa IA. It will be an auction with 100% of the money going to Jacob's family.

Thanks for the donations given already. I went and visited with him today and told him about us pulling together. He got a huge smile. Thank you!

Beav, sent you an e-mail

Steve, a big thanks!

I would be happy to donate some lures for the benefit as well. Just need an adress to send them to.

Thanks Todd! Donations are starting to come in and hopefully a nice donation for the family.

They just received the bill for the surgery and hospital stay and it is $115,000. Insurance will cover some, but not nearly enough. Too bad there isn't a money back guarantee on surgery.

Mike,

Jacob read Muskie First, Walleye First, WC, IDA, I/O, MWA everyday. Jake was a fisherman. Grew up on the Mississippi River of fairly poor means.

Jacob did not post much, and to be honest not sure if he is a registered member of every site. He was pretty much a quiet guy that worked, slept, play dad and fished and dreamed of fishing.

I just left his house. He is pretty much in a drugged state unconsiouse, but when he wakes up he thinks he is sorting his tacklebox or practicing reeling an imaginary rod.

Jake isn't asking for help, I guess I am. His family is going to have a hard burden getting on with life without him. There is no agenda other than asking for some help that share the same passion.

I hope my posts here and other sites dont offend anyone.

Sincerely,

Ron

I recieved the phone call from Doug, Jake father this morning-

Good Morning All, It saddens me to say that Jacob (Fisher1) has passed away. Everyone needs to know that he is in a better place and is fishing with his grandpas. Renea, Tabitha and I want you all know how much we appreciate all the prayers over the past weeks. Even though he never met any of you he considered you all his friends.
