I love the big pond also and welcome the new site when it arrives. I love muskies but the mid summer traffic on some of the inland lakes can be a test to anyones nerves. Salmon fishing is a nice break from the muskies on occasion. I added this boat to my fleet this spring and she is at McKinley Marina in Milwaukee. She catches fish too! Posts: 4266 | No offense, but I live about a half mile from the lake, worked on my brothers charter boat for years and can't stand the smell or taste of salmon or trout. I wish there were walleyes and muskies down here, but when MMSD dumps 100,000 gallons of untreated crap into the lake when there are storms, I wouldn't want to swim in it either. I give my dog a bath when he comes out of there. The perch fishery used to be awesome, but that is almost gone. Now the flying carp are making their way into the lake........things don't look good for the future of the Lake Michigan fishery. Have a good time though. They are some great fighters, and it's a great way to spend a day. I wish that I could find the picture of the 22# Rainbow that I caught back in the late 70's. Man, I could tell you some stories about some of the trips that we took...........but some are better off untold.......like singing and dancing naked on the bow of my brother's boat as we maneuvered our way through a mass of sailboats ![]() Yup, some fun trips....and some horror stories. Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | Dan, I've seen you out there, your right the fishing is "HOT" for COHO right now. I was out on Monday with Sanks and caught 9 nice fish. Turn on the box to channel 69, I'll bend you ear for awhile. I've been trading time between the inland and the Big Pond, we raised a nice fish on Wednesday before the big blast hit us. Now I now how it feels to be "torn between to lovers". Chuck, I know what it's like to have a 16'r with nine rods off the back. Netman Edited by Netman 5/26/2006 6:10 AM

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | So if TUFFY gets good at being a 1st mate, does that make him a Master Mater?? ![]() Man, if it wasn't for myself, I'm not sure anyone would laugh. Anywho, Dan, I would definitely be up for that. Just don't mistake me for a dipsey rod. Not sure I could handle the drag. ![]() Okay, back to your normally scheduled programs. Enough nonsense out of me today.

Joel, where you nippin' at the Jack this morning? Well, I think the boat is full. We will have to work on a date next. I am wondering can we have a SalmonFirst outting with it not existing yet? Maybe we can call it the 1st Pre-SalmonFirst outting? Whoa that's confussing! I am heading north tonight for the entire week of muskies ending with the Butternut Tournament. Then I need to switch gears for the salmon for a while. Dan

I'll bring sammiches! Edited by Shep 5/26/2006 10:36 AM

Posts: 376 Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin | Like Koepp said let's get a date nailed down. Just to let you guys know, with gas at $3.56 a gallon, $20 or $25 a person would be greatly appreciated. Also state your morning/evening preference.

Posts: 5874 | How about the 18th? That was one of Mike's dates he has open. I think this will be an awesome outing! No problemo on the fuel contribution. And like I said, I'll bring sammiches. Edited by Shep 6/13/2006 7:50 AM

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | My kids were planing on going fishing on the 18th so Salmon would be just fine with me. Where's everybody going to meet? What time? Should we plan on something to eat? Sanks is going up to his dads place so I don't think he's available. Keep me informed Netman

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | I'm there if the wind and the waves cooperate. The kids and I have fished on Fathers Day the last couple of years. I'll be in the INVADER out of McKinley as early as possible. Bruce
