Ok everyone i mainly fish from the bank,do a little wading and i don't have a nice fishing boat to go out and find muskies. All i have is a 12 foot flat bottom with a small a** trolling motor to fish the potomac river, so i can't get around very well. Do any of you have any suggestions that can help me catch more muskies from land and maximize my time by the water better?
The areas i fish are so heavily fished that it is so hard to even get a musky to follow lone hit a lure.
Any ideas? I could use some suggestions...

thank you
tony

Work good spots slower, use the current to hold lures next to cover where you can. Fish see lures splash and run but not hang around and dance..... rings the dinner bell.

i don't know anything about that river, but I can tell you from lots of experience bank fishing, find dams, fish are there. You will be suprised how fast of water they are sitting in.

ok thanx for the info guys.
I have been working my baits with slow, fast and stready retrieves to find them and still nothing.
I am going to go out later on tonight and see if i can bust one after dark since its a fullmoon.
I wonder if live bait is the answer? What should i try? Suckers? CreekChubs? Bluegills? I don't have any idea.
But i have no patience and not alot of time to sit there and wait for them to grab live bait.

thank you
tony

I like to do what the everybody isn't.I go against current, not just with.I use all types of lures not just topwaters. There is no current strong enough that a muskie wont live in,no water too shallow.Fish the rapids.I use a floating Burt jerk bait ,cast downstream and rip it upstream. It is remarkably snag proof, the current will pull the lure out of snags. You might also want to try night fishing or my favorite, early, pre dawn mornings.Seems few peeps like to get up at 3 am... Good Luck,Paul
