Heading up to Wabigoon for the first time July 29 - Aug 5. Never fished this body of water before. I hear it's shallow so there's no trolling. Any other information would be helpful. I've fished Canyon Lake, Indian Lake Chain, and Eagle Lake, are any of these lakes comparable to Wabigoon?

We'll be staying at the Bonny Bay Camp. I also know that this body of water has a lot of boulders sticking up, how many of those rocks are marked?

Also, what's the walleye and smallie action like on Wabigoon? Again, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

We've had two outings out there in the last two years: best action has been in shallow (4' or less) in the biggest clumps of visible weeds. Check the bays of the north shore for most consistent action, including the golf course, marina, anderson island, etc. We've moved/caught/missed fish on topwaters (tail rotators, side to side), willow leaf bladed spinnerbaits, and even really bouyant up and down jerks. Really hot colors seem to get them moving, and a slow just under the surface approach was key last year.

Good luck!!!!
