| Someone recently informe that we would not be able to use our Motorola walkie talkies between our boats in Canada. We we're told that the radios needed to be licensed prior to their use.
What's the real story..
Thanks for the help.

| Mo-Muskies,
First of all I like your user name! Yes,Canadian Authorities can slam you on that one of not having a "Radio Station License". They will usualy give you a warning the first time, but if you get them worked up or get caught a second time,I believe the fine can be as much as $1000.00 Canadian Dollars. It is just a matter of filling out the Radio Station License Form and sending it in to the FCC,there is a temporary license attached with the form I beleive also. This goes for VHF Marine Band Radios as well, you need the Station License to operate in Canadian waters.

| Holy cow are you kidding me? The dinky hand held walkie talkies need a license? What is this world coming to if that is true! We use them alot when fishing. They are great for communication between boats. |
