A few friends and I are headed down to Shelbyville this weekend for our 5th annual "FreezeYerNuts" St. Patty's Camp Fest. Big camp fires, beer, brats and hopefully a few fish in the boat. If anyone is in the area stop by and say "hey". Wolf Creek Camp Ground in the Black Oak tent area (Green/Gold Nitro). Team RumbleKnott, you Knuckleheads should come with and make it two years in a row. Make Jeremy come this time.

Little one is doing awsome! I kinda fell of the Earth for a little while with the new baby. new house & new job. Wish you guys could make it. If things change grab Jeremy and drive down. I just checked the 10 day and although the temps are to be in 40's to 20's it's not calling for any rain. Might even put the muskie gear down long enough to hits the crappie spot for some fish to go with the brats (probably not but it's a thought). Has anyone been out down there lately. (seen any...caught any?)

Dave

p.s. - I take some pics of this years fire for ya, Mike. We don't plan on being cold at night!

Have you ever had "just one of those trips". On the way down the straps ripped off my brand new boat cover, Semi throws a rock into my windshield "crack!", get hassled by a cop at a gas station "You know you shouldn't be driving around with a cracked windshield" (that was fun), fishing was like dragging a lure through Dinty Moore beef stew (unbelievably murky and loaded with debris), 20 minutes into the first morning I get hung up and snap my brand new 7'2" FigRig right in the middle (what the...), then the guy I'm with claims "yeah I can drive a stick shift" #*^@ near puts my truck in the drink.....anyway I did still manage to have fun. I knew the fishing would be tough going in so thats no big deal (talked to the guys at Leprechan Landing and they said water was up close to 7' in the past week. Even the crappie fishing was real tough). BPS replaced the boat cover this morning, Ed Shirley's is replacing the rod tomorrow, boat ran like a champ straight out of storage, and this years camp fires made last years look like a match stick (pictures coming soon...on another guys camera). Thinking of heading to the Chain this Sunday, just watching the weather to see if it's worth a shot.

Hey Carl and Jim,
We usually try and pull off several long weekend camping and fishing excursions @ SHelbyville over the course of the summer. Always room for more.

I think Jeremy will be testing out the Tuffy on Sunday, atleast one other guy from the board will be out too. Probably launch @ Turtle, or Bob's. It's a black 1700 Osprey with a 70 horse Suzuki, I'll look for you...... What a trip , Gotta love the cops in the right place at just the right time, good to hear the gear will be replaced. Jeremy will definately appreciate the fire pics too ......

Hey everyone,

My brother is going to take my boat down to Shelbyville next weekend and I was hoping you could pass along some tips I could give him. We have never fished Shelbyville before and don't know where to start.

Thanks very much,

Niel
