Looking for a rain suit that has the bibs and a parka that is gore tex. Don't want to get the Gander Mountain Guide Series but was wondering what you guys have.

I've got the Gander Gore Tex Guide Series Bibs and really like them. Going on third or fourth season now.

I know that folks that use the Cabela's Guide Wear, or Bass Pro's 100 MPH seem to be happy with that.

My jacket is a Columbia Omni-Tech, and that too has served me well.

Gore-tex, is Gore-Tex... the rest depends on quality of stitching, and other fabric used to make the rest of the outfit. You can purchase Gore-Tex single layer for about $80 for each top/bottom. From there it goes up to about $250 for each, for Gore-Tex lined products with heavier denier nylon outter shells, etc. etc.

I have the gander mountain stuff and it is pretty nice. Never really got wet while wearing it. I have purchased some Ice Armor from Thorne Bros, this stuff is awesome. It is heavy duty and not something you would want to wear if it is above 60 degrees. I think that you need to own multiple sets of rain gear depending on the temperature outside. I have two different pairs of Gander MTN stuff and the Ice Armor for if it is late in the season or if it unseasonably cold.

Just a FYI, there is a difference between Gander's Tech-2o and their Gore-Tex line.

Tech-2o is NOT Gore-tex.

Cabelea's stuff will serve you well.

I've got the Hogeman suit and like it. Being it's technically designed for fly fishing the coat has snaps to fold it under & turn it into a wading jacked, a handy feature.

I've been using the bass pro shops 100mph suit for three years with no problems at all. I've been at tournaments where it's been raining sideways at 35 degrees and have never got cold or wet. Just make sure when you wash them you do not use fabric softener. If your just looking for a suit for the summer I would go with the frogtoggs. Very lightweight and comfortable.

2 years going on my gander gore tex suit, and no problems

was curious as to why you said you wouldn't want one.

i've had others b4, and this happens to be the best one i've owned.

I had problems with the Tech 20 once and it is also a competitor of my part time job that I work for (Dick's Sporting Goods). We don't get enough high end rain gear so I need to shop at a place that isn't a competitor. Even though we took over Gaylans it still doesn't mean that we'll get high end gear. And also, Gander's prices are normally higher anyway which they can get away with being a specific Hunt/Fish/Camp store.

Give GAMEHIDE a try. The quality is great and will last for years. This stuff realy keeps you dry during any down poor out on the lake. http://www.gamehide.com/
