| Hi. Been reading here for abit but never saw this one. What does a single wire leader offer when compared to using a multistrand? I have miles of 7 strand that uses crimps. When does one lean toward a single wire? What baits work better when using one? Thanks. |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Gliding Jerkbaits seem to have a better "side-to-side" motion when using a single strand leader. The single strand will not curl on the pull, thus creating a pivot point at the lure. This little pivot point allows the lure to glide freely to one side, then on the next pull, the leader helps to Pivot the lure to go the other direction.
For everything else, a multi-strand leader works just fine. Some lures you may find that a single strand leader works better...it just takes some time and experimentation to see which is best for what lure you are using.
Good luck and have fun!!

| Would a Triple D fall under that category of a side to side bait? Thanks for the tips. |
