I was wondering if the retail price for Ranger boats would be less in some states than others? Do you think it would be cheaper to travel to buy your next boat?
Good Luck

Might be a little different, but with gas at $3.10 the savings get eaten up pretty quick. Some states have weird tax laws, too -- if you buy a boat in one state to use in a different state you have to pay taxes on that purchase in both states...

I would talk to Mike Mehsikomer at Frankies ..he isn't far from you and will beat any dealership..I came very close to buying one from him til I found my used 690....He's very easy to work with and his prices could not be beat.

A snag I ran into from purchasing a boat out of state was the differences in registration and title laws from state to state. I had difficulties getting a license plate and registration for my trailer due to the differences. Other than that, I wouldn't hesitate to buy out of state again...from my experiences we have a horrible marine industry in Iowa and I'll gladly take my business to another state that is helpful.

I know of guys in northern wisconsin that in the past have driven by dealers in wisconsin to buy from bedford sales in IL... over 300 miles is a long way to drive, but that is what they did

R&H Marine in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, good pricing. They had a 618 with a 115 there for 22K. EXCELLENT wrench, too!

Unlike New Cars/Trucks which have a "suggested retail price" which MUST be the same in all states boat prices are actually set by the dealer selling the boat so "retail" on boats is a relative thing. Check around a bit and find a deal you like, Frankies just down the street from you has always treated me right.

And to clarify....... on new vehicles the 'Suggested Retail" is set by the factory and must be displayed as such, of course the price you actually pay will usually vary from that number.

I can agree with what has been said about Frankies. I purchased my Ranger boat there this spring and their prices could not be beat any where else I looked. They have been great every step of the way through the boat buying process.

Definately shop around, and don't be afraid to drive to get it.

I the past 3 boats I have owned have all came from out of state, no problems with the registration, taxes, etc...

You can save thousands if you are willing to drive.

Bedford would be the easiest price to beat, hands down.

Dave I'll 3rd Frankies. Not only is he a great guy, they'll do whatever they can to get you in a boat.

Also, Frankies DIRECTLY supports the muskie fishery. Paul Hartman get's his rearing pond at a reduce rate from Frankie. The TC Chapter also get's our pond from him as well. He's also been selling Paul bait to feed the fish at below his cost. He's also set our chapter up with our raffle and other side help that is invaluable to our chapter.

Support the business that support our people.

Having sold boats at Frankie's I can tell you that if you go to Mike Mehsikomer and tell him that I sent you there you will be treated exceptionally well. You always get great treatment with the sales team there but tell Mike M. that Mike Hoen said he is the best in Ranger boats and he will be bending over backwards to help. Better yet give me a call and I will tell Mike to call you at your covenience. Mike Hoen work# 1-800-868-7539 ext 223 cell# 651-428-2467. Hope this helps a little. You will not be sorry that you dealt with Frankie, Debby and the whole crew at Frankie's.
