Does anyone know how well a 7'6" Heavy St. Croix Avid will work for magnum bulldawgs? It has the older blank rated at 1-6 oz.
How much softer are they than the newer 2-6oz. blanks?

Great, I was worried it would be too light and wouldn't work. It was supposed to be a new one with the current specs. Of course, it was a new Avid, but a new "2004" Avid with different specs. Not as beefy as the newer ones. I bought it specifically for throwin mag dawgs so I was a little worried I was stuck with something that wouldn't work.

That is my favorite dawg rod!

Although, I've got Thornes making me a custom rod from that blue blank that's rated for 2-8 oz. We'll see if that one's any better.
