Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Hey guys I am planning on traveling up to Rhinelander to vote for the Pelican 50" limit. I have room for a couple of people. Anyone interested in coming along? Please let me know, this is a very important vote and the guys worked really hard on getting this drawn up, Pelican's fishery hangs in the balance. Let me know if anyone wants to come with. Mike

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Come on guys, there must be someone out there that would be willing to go up and help out with this vote? PP and I were hoping for at least one full car making it up there. With an option of a second one going to.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | You guys should stay right in Portage county and support the proposal there. Sounds like Oneida will be represented pretty well. There has been some opposition in Portage in the past, and guys from the fisheries society(a couple years ago) were a big help to us in getting the WI limit raised. If you guys bring it up in your county, and support it, there is a good chance that it will pass.

Posts: 1168 | I'll be staying here in Portage. Last time I went to Rhinelander I dropped a grand. That is true about getting the support spread around...it's not a local vote, it's a statewide vote. So since it isn't a "hot button" issue down here that will bring the muskie guys out in force Portage could probably use the extra push.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | I know Norm wants as much support up there as he can get, and since I have a place up there I have a strong passion for that lake as well. So I will be making the trip up there, I know a bunch of friends here that are going to go here in town. So I have room for at least 2 guys, possibly 3 but if more wanted to go up there it could be arranged. Mike

Posts: 929 Location: Rhinelander. | question for those of you who support this. Why bother when its a lake the native americans spear every year and spear heavily in spring and the winter. I'd much rather see the efforts put into a lake that is not speared. I just feel like I'm letting them get big so they slip between the spear tines. Whats sad is thats its the really big fish they spear that all too often fall off the spear to die anyway. just wondering. Don Pfeiffer
