Guys,
I will be taking the family to the Lac Du Flambeau area this summer the first week in July. We will be fishing for muskies but know nothing about the area lakes (this is our first time in this area) and would appreciate any suggestions on where to fish and what to use. We are not that experienced so numbers are more important than size, but we would also like the opportunity to also catch "the big one". We will be staying at Timber Bay Resort on White Sand Lake. Thank you in advance for your responses. Jim

There are a ton of lakes in that area. If you have your own boat, for numbers and not big fish I would try Wildcat. Bucktails and suicks silver/black for bucktails and any color suick. You also have Big lake west of there. Seen some and hooked some big fish there. If your going on the the flambeau chain always a shot at a big fish but hire a guide to learn some spots. Try the sporstman connection books also. Tons of lakes and lots of info

Flambeau is an outstanding area for muskie fishing including the lake your staying on.Low light periods are best on that lake unless your planing on fishing suspended fish. The Flambeau chain is some of the best trophy water in the state and you should try to get over there during your trip.Weedlines in Flambeau lake are very good in low light conditions.Launch at the campground off Hghy47.E mail me for more specific info on action lakes in the area, including the chain.

I'd suggest hiring a guide for the area....2 that come to mind are Howie (above) and Doug Smith out of Rollies..both will help you immensely...

the flambeau chain is on my short list of tougher water, but most worthwhile for targeting big muskies. i've spent most of my time on Fence Lake and would be glad to describe the places that i've fished it if you want to send a pm to me. i guess i was really impressed by structure and the size and quality of the bait fish i've found there.
