| Myself and my 3 teenage sons are planning on pulling the boat from Chicago up to Eagle Lake, Wabigoon area for 3 weeks in late July, Early August. We don't have the funds to stay at any of the resort cabins. We want to tent camp. Does anyone have any reccomendations of campgrounds on these lakes, I've found very few options online? I've heard some of the resorts have a few camping spots but did not see any advertising that.
Anyone have some good ideas or names of places I can contact ? |

I have a place on eagle and would be willing to rent resonably in july and august. 1 minute from boat launch. 3 bedrooms, indoor plumbing, gourmet kitchen, horseshoe pit, fully furnished. Leave an email where I could contact you if that would interest you. |

| Just north of Vermillion Bay there is the Blue Lake Provincial Park which has camping. Its about a 5-10 minute drive from there to the boat launch in Vermillion Bay on Eagle. |

P.S....I would be weary about staying at Blue Lake Provincial Park, there's a lot of people crawling around there |

Location: Warroad, Mn | I've camped at Polar Star Lodge on Wabigoon (back in my youth). I think they still have camp sites, and mave a very nice covered dock.

| Blue Lake Provincial is close to Eagle Lake/Vermillion Bay. 5 years back, I stayed there and the ground was rock hard - you'll need a cushion for sure. As mentioned above it seemed like we were in downtown Minneapolis or Milwaukee when I stayed there in terms of the unbelievable number of people packed into a small area. The price was right, but I would avoid it if you want the peaceful Canadian wilderness experience. If you checked with the Ministry of Tourism website and call them I believe there are a number of campsites - but unless it is a true wilderness campsite - expect major chaos at the campground. It was rather unbelievable actually.
