Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | So I didnt skip any classes to fish today, but I do have 2 tests tomorrow so I took some time away from the grindstone of chemistry and natural resource to get out on the river to do some walleye fishing with the girlfriend. My goal was to just get her into some walleyes and get her fishing with me......to my surprise I caught this guy!!! I'm guessing it was in the 34 to 36 inch range, but dont do a photo analysis on those numbers. Tried to give Becky (girlfriend) the rod cause I thought it was a walleye....she wouldnt take it and I'm sort of glad she didnt! Was a blast!! Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | OK got the pic to work finally! To clarify i was fishing for WALLEYES, not muskies, was using a 1/8 ounce jig and a fathead. I wasnt fishing for them out of season up here WI, just an accidental catch, and a good one at that! Mike Edited by Pointerpride102 3/30/2006 6:16 PM

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Mike, Nice fish! But how tall are you? My photo analysis says only 33 7/8" at the most if you're under 5'10". If you're 6' or better, it's at least 36 1/8". So let's hope you're between 5'10" and 6'. Otherwise, your credibility around here just might be gone! By the way, I heard the prime times tomorrow are right during the middle of your tests! Aaron

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Nice fish mike, I'm not suprised in that spot. Probably the best numbers spot on the river there. This fish was caught almost directly across from there a few springs ago on a jig too. Attachments ---------------- riverfish2.jpg (149KB - 105 downloads)

Posts: 1462 Location: Davenport, IA | Nice fish...sometimes accidently is the easiest way to catch a muskie. I've had some luck when bass fishing and crappie fishing (1 lb test doesn't do too well though) with muskies.
