| I just purchased 4 dual-clamp Downeast rod holders. I've heard they can really tear-up cork handles. Has anyone figured-out a way to minimize this? I suppose I could wrap my handles in electical tape....but thought someone might have a better idea.
Thanks! |

Location: lansing, il | bass pro carries a rod wrap that you can wrap the rods with to protect the cork. most of the rods i troll with have the rubber handles though. and when i occasionally used my st croix for trolling i never noticed them getting torn up. |

| don't jerk the rod up out of the holder open it slowly or wrap the cork because when a fish hits remembering to go easy ain't easy |

| I took and dipped the rod holders in Plastic Dip, the stuff you coat plier handles and stuff with. I put 3-4 coats on. Be sure to let each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next. |

| When I use the down east rod hodlers, I have no problems, The clamp goes on the plastic reel seat. If anything it scratches up the reel on the botom side. |
