I'am going to set one rig up this year.I know I need a roller tip on the end of my rod.I have an old tidewater line counter.I'am going to use 40 pound seven strand wire. Do you just make a loop at the end of the wire for attaching lures? I tried searching the site but didn't turn much up.Thanks for your time.Dennis Blume

I would suggest a twil tip...they slide over the tip of the rod and have a spring that the line goes through...better than a roller as the rod can be pointed in any direction...also I sugggest single strand...it gives off a unique hum and fish love it...also you can leave a long tag of wire where you attach the leader and hook it is a u...catches all the loose floaters before they hit the lure....great set-up that can be used year round not just deep water...run them shallow as well....sometimes they just prefer the wire set-up..Ben

Ben is right, you want the twili tip. Search for a "twili-tip" not twil tip. I got mine from fishingrodstuff.com . If you insist on a roller tip let me know and I'll mail you one for free that I have sitting on the shelf. Simply use the right size sleeve and crimp a loop on the end of the wire with a snap swivle in place and you are in business. I use mine muskie and salmon trolling. They say the wire does make a singing sound in the water that might attract the fish. The bonus fun of wire line is zipstrech !! You feel every heartbeat from the beast on the other end.
