i was trying to do a search for st croix premier rods. i tried premier, st croix, stcroix, st.croix and all returned no matches. but there is a st.croix rod listed on the very forst page of the buy/sell forum, and i am sure there has to be more posts relating to st croix rods than just one.
why isnt the search finding them?

You might have had the date option set to "Since last login," which is something that I forget to change all the time. Try changing it to "One Year" or "All Posts."

Make sure you pay attention to the search duration. The system defaults to 'since last login' unless you change it. You may want to search the posts made within the last week, month, or year depending upon what you are looking for.

Make sure you are changing the DATE Parameters of the search to ALL Posts, or some longer timeframe than "Since Last Log-In".

If found a few returns: http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/search/query.asp?action=searc...

But, honestly, I dont know how to limit out the search more than just putting in a few words. Zach, does the search function use boolean operators, or what are the ways to use the search function more specifically?

I did a one year search for "croix rod" and dozens of hits were returned

Be sure to select the date parameter, the default is "since last login"

Castmaster,

The search feature doesn't seem to handle mutiple words. To test it, try a search for with "venus" and compare with "bucktail venus". Or "Nixon" and compare with "Nixon croix". You get the idea. In each case, the search engine only processes the first word. To test for Boolean logic, try "venus nixon"... same result as just "venus" so it is only using the first word.
