Posts: 30 Location: Woodridge, Ill | I am so outta here. I proposed to my GF on x-mas and we talked about leaving and now were doing something about it. I am moving back to Illinois May 1st. Now I will have some real fish to chase. And LOTW aint that bad of a drive - considering I have done it from Calif several times. I am so looking forward to some real weather too !

Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Congratulations and good for you. I have friends in the San Diego area. One fishes from his surf board. Nice place to visit, but too sunny all the time. My Irish skin pinks up too easily. Are there Muskies in Illinois? Kevin San Diego, It means a whale's Va*@.

Congratulations to you and your fiance! I lived in California when I went to graduate school at Stanford in the mid 80s and I have had many opportunities to return there. Despite the nice weather, one big problem, NO MUSKIES IL is where I have spent most of my life after being born in WI. Welcome back to the land of corn. If you end up in the NW suburbs, consider joining our FRV Muskies Inc. Club. We have lots of great people to meet and fish with. Steve

Posts: 30 Location: Woodridge, Ill | I will be living in downers grove and brining my boat with me too. I have a Tracker Pro Deep V-17 with a 90 on it. So I guess my boat will be a bit small for lake michigan right ? what about the rest of the waters in the area ? do they have motor restrictions out there ?

You can fish the big lake, just need to be careful. I used to fish it is a 16 foot lund, it was a real tank...spring fall great close bite...a west wind bring in the cool water in the summer as well....smart man moving a may, no girl from cali would like it if you moved now....have fun..Ben

Posts: 2024 | Hopeful, You better believe there are muskies in IL. What, 37 lakes stocked with them? 38.8 lb. state record, recognized 53.5" (kept), unrecognized but confirmed 54" (released). You ever want to make a trip down here to cure cabin fever and I'll try my best to help you out.

Posts: 30 Location: Woodridge, Ill | We have our annual LOTW trip outta Morson, we got a houseboat. So we will be up there July 1-8th. I am thinking Sakaskong or maybe Miles Bay for our base camp again, not sure yet though. I am more partial to Sakaskong as it is a lesser of a run to Stony as that is where we like to fish.
