i need two for my new boat. which ones do you guys reccomend? seems like most of them are ass pains as far as getting the rod out on a strike. dont want permanent ones.

I use the R.A.M. rod holder system. I have sockets mounted permanently in the boat and just keep the holders in a storage compartment until they're needed. The system seems to work all right for me.

Lucky,

Get on Rollie & Helens site, and check out the Down Easters. I have some on my boat, along with some Scotty's. I like the DownEasters alot. Very adjustable, and you just lift the rod straight off.
