Posts: 180 Location: Kinkaid Lake, IL | THUMBS UP OR DOWN It will be my bucktail set up. I will be pairing it with a 8 ft diamondback MH. I love to throw llungen tails- usually double colorado that have a little pull to them. I also thought about the Pflueger trion 66, millionar CVX, or Okuma induron Id 250 Any other suggestion?? Posts: 67 | I have two TICA's both tend to backlash, spooled woth 80# Power Pro. And they are BAD BL's. I've had to take the spool out to clear some of my professional overruns. On the other hand I don't have this problem with my C3's, C4. Otherwise the TICA is a nice reel.

| If you take the spool out of a Tica and look at the side opposite of the reel handle you will see six brake weight posts. The Caimen reels come out of the box with only two brake weights installed. This is how I run my Ticas due to the fact my casting style is to throw very light and let the rod do the work. I even go as far as to loosen the brake tension knob (on the handle side) all the way to have a total free-spool. This allows one to make long casts with minimal effort. However, if your casting style is more powerful, you may wish to add up to six total brake weights. This should cure any problem one may have with overruns. Otherwise, the reels cast like a rocket, are quite smooth and stay that way for a lot of use, thumbar is really good, handle has bearings in in, they make one for leftys, and it is a good price point. Hope this helps. Lee Tauchen | |||

Posts: 214 Location: Central Iowa | I added the extra 4 weights onto mine and it made a significant difference...I was about ready to throw it in the lake before I discovered there was only 2 weights on it. The casting was my only complaint, other than that its a very smooth reel.

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I push my two white breaks all the way in, and then loosen the spool tension knob all the way. Very smooth and durable

| I have never used a Tica reel but the Okuma and Trion 66's I have used and I love them. Never had one problem with either and they will easily perform the job. Abu Garcia's IMHO are great reels. I have only had one problem with a abu garcia reel and it was a cardinal reel which I used for walleyes and they replaced it and sent me a new one in less than one week. Steve | |||
