Posts: 208 | Looking for anyone that wants to part with straight Depth Raiders in a color called "Sunburst" or orange tiger. I think it was a custom color for R & H Musky shop in the late 1990's. They refered to it as Sunburst, but that pattern is more widely known as orange tiger. White belly, red/orange back, yellow/orange sides, tiger stripes..... Anyone have one just taking up space? Thanks, Jeff Sacco Edited by Trollindad 2/2/2006 7:38 AM Attachments ---------------- Sunburst DR.JPG (127KB - 62 downloads)

Posts: 208 | I have had MRG copy colors before, Mike does great work. Here is my problem (please don't turn this into a Bucher bashing post) all the depthraiders I have that are over 3-4 years old catch 5x the fish as the new ones. Something is different, if you hold a new one in one hand and a old one in the other and shake them - they are different. Is the plastic harder/softer - I don't know. Is the rattle inside different - I don't know. What I do know is the fish "tell" me there is a difference. It may just be the lakes I fish but there seems to be a preference. Yes, as a musky fisherman I am 100% overboard on crap like this, I know...... If not that color - does anyone have old DR's they want to part with? Even the ones with the painted lips or the ones that the chrome flakes off. Lot's of interesting stuff to trade or name a price. HELP! T'dad Edited by Trollindad 2/2/2006 7:37 AM

Posts: 208 | Since we are on the subject, I will also add that a MRG painted DR is heavier. I think it is the extra thick clear coating he uses & they do hold up to hook wear better and hold their finish better. That's fine for trolling but if you are dancing your DR to suspendo's it is not as lively and I don't get as many strikes (maybe in the fall I would?). On the other hand, a Durst painted DR is light, it must be a thinner coat. The paint chips off quicker but the bait retains close to it's original action. Do I pay too much attention and/or am I off my rocker again? Anyone agree/disagree with this? T'dad

Posts: 605 Location: Marshfield, WI | Hi, I went to the Gander in Wausau yesterday. They still have depth raiders that were made by Bucher. They are still in the old packaging w/ the red stripe on top. I do have two baby shallow raiders w/ chrome peeling off if anyone is interested in them. Krishna
