I am planning to buy a new reel soon for the season. What are good reels out there? Price ranging from 70-100? Any suggestions would be great thanx!

I don't think you can go wrong with a Pfluger Trion 66, have had very good luck with mine

For the money...I like the Pete Maina BPS (Gold) Reels. I think you can find a thread in the search area for this too.

Check out Reed's Sporting Goods I picked up an Abu Garcia 6600SSC3 for a great price. It is esentially a 6500 C3 with a thumb bar. I think the total including S&H came to less than $70.

I've had three years of good luck with my 6600C5 Abu Garcia that I got from Cabela's. Great price great reel.

My clients and myself use the Tica Caimen CM 200's.

Around $100.00 and I really like them. Very smooth and quiet.

most tackle shops will have them and you can order them from Cabeles, or Gander Mtn.

PS are you an AF chief, if you are looks like your stationed at Scott AFB thats close to home for me hope to move back down there soon.

Shimano Corvalus 400 - I have the Trion 66, Cardiff, every Ambassadeur made from 6500c3 to Morrum to SM6600CLW.
The Corvalus is solid - best reel for the money - beat it hard last year - clients were impressed. Get the Calcutta 400B if you can - you won't touch another reel ( except for maybe a Calcutta TE)

Look at http://www.sportsmansguide.com, fishing tackle. They have a good selection of reels there now, priced in the range you are looking for.
