| I have been invited to join a group that goes up to Mahkwa Lodge on Lac Seul. I would like to fish for muskies, but don't know if there are any in this area of the lake. I was told it is on the Lake Vaughn area of the lake. If anyone fishes this area I would be thankfull for any info you can pass along. Chris |

Location: Downers Grove, IL | Vaughn is centrally located on the Seul and is on the South end of the lake. That area has ridiculous walleye and pike fishing espiecally early in the season. You may have to travel east though in order to contact larger populations of muskies.

Location: Downers Grove, IL | Are you looking to strictly muskie fish??? I've fished the West end of the Seul for 6 years and have a pink and white suick that is Mangled from Pike to 40 inches and eyes up to 28 inches. I dont know how many miles it would be to the "prime musky grounds" but I would never turn down a trip to this area of Lac Seul, unless you have limited vacation time and want to strictly fish muskies. I'll take a look at my maps tonight and see if I can get an idea of how many miles it would be.

| I fish Lac Seul quite a bit and the area you are in holds some of the best walleye and pike action anywhere. However if you are targeting muskies I would travel northeast to the Bear Narrows area of the lake. This is about as far southwest as I have found fisheable numbers of muskies in the system. From Bear Narrows northeast however is prime muskie area and anywhere you find good green cabbage or coontail there may be a huge muskie. Anything firetiger seems to work best for me and trolling can also be good anywhere you find narrows or island clusters. When are you going (time of year). |

Location: Lou's Bay on the 'goon | I have fished Lac Suel for ever, generally walleye but speak with the Muskie Hunters, MIght want to check out the Silver Waterwheel lodge site on the web.. Its situated near Williams bay -20 miles west of Vaughan. Their site gives one an idea of what is out there.
Next time your on the 'goon' in Lou's bay, drop in for a beverage and bring a story. |
