Can I connect this CD player directly to the cranking battery? If so, will a 3 amp fuse protect the other electronics hooked through the Accessory switches? Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

Mine is wired directly to the battery. I do have a feeling that it's drawing a bit, but other then that it's been fine.

Mine is wired that way as well. It definitely will draw more out of your battery, but if you motor anywhere with the big one, the battery should charge pretty quickly. What you can do when you replace the battery at some point is get a dual purpose battery that will work for both starting and slow draw of juice. The only way a failure could occur then is if the battery fails prematurely, or you don't run your outboard for days...

All electronics should be wired to your deep cycle cranking battery. Your CD player should come with an inline fuse and holder. That will provide the correct protection if/when needed.

Good luck and have fun with your new toy:-)
