| I am trying to make some of my own wood crankbaits and I was wondering what type of paint / sealer should I use. Also, are there any particular types of paint that works better than others?

| hi. some tips that may help you out.
when makeing your own lures ruff sand them and add a coat or 2 of a fast drying clear epoxy to them with wood baits this will help to preserve the wood as well as stop the paint from soaking in witch will resualt in numerus coats to achive your final product. then use a white primer useally 2 coats is fair. aalways try to use the same brand of paint through out the process a lot of diffrent makes do not blend well or work well with each other. i have had real good luck with painters touch brand. if you need any more help on this or on quick ways to make various templates email me. also a good finishing epoxy to coat with is envirotex.
