Posts: 384 Location: Eagle River, Alaska | Alas....since by move, and self imposed musky banishment, from Down South.....wait that would be Canada...I mean way down South (that would be the Lower 48) to Alaska I seem to be in a different time zone. Actually about 4 or so depending on how far east you live. I seem to have lost contact with muskydom (primarily in an effort to save my daughter from Slamr's attentions). Indeed as I was perusing (yes Slamr....that is a real word...and it's not naughty) the website I clicked on my favorite "Removed Posts" section and was shocked to find 17 boards of unceremoniously yanked material from the main board. I had to click back to number 17 to find my own removed (and deleted) post. Yes, I had the distinction of having only the 5th removed post of the board. As a matter of fact it took a year to accumulate 20 removed posts. Yet in the last 3+ years they have been 16 full boards of yanked posts. Is this censorship??? Indeed. Slamr must be developing morals in his old age.....or Steve has let libs run rampant with the moderating duties. Alas, being removed used to be such a distinction.....no more. Not it seems anyone came be removed for the silliest comment. I'll bet if I were to type "poop".....or maybe "fecal material"....yes, even "kaca" this post would be yanked. The ignominy of it all. Can you tell its winter???? Hey.....try winter in Alaska...we haven't had any frickin sun on the house for nearly 8 weeks now and it will be another 5 before we see the yellow orb again from our house windows. And you guys for Green Bay quite whining.....we don't even have a real pro hockey team up here.....although I'll bet Favre would make a good wingman for a few years. I'm bored....although my Trojans (no Slamr....not those Trojans) will be playing for their 3rd national championship in a row tomorrow (or tonight by everyone else's time) so I thought I would say something impertinent on the board. Miss the muskies......Christmas....New Years greetings from the far north and yes, I pathetic, there are Christmas hats on the fish mounts. You gotta love a wife who lets you dress up your house with fish, though. Greetings, Brian....aka DocEsox Attachments ---------------- IMG_0211.JPG (118KB - 91 downloads) IMG_0218.JPG (188KB - 91 downloads)

Posts: 32954 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Doc, Bet you didn't figure I'd be up this late, but I am, result of a fine club allowing me to waste a sizable portion of the evening rambling on about irrelevant Muskie catching ideas. It's simple, really, we don't have you and Sponge visiting regularly to verbally beat the snot out of offending posters anymore, so we are forced to simply send the 'stuff' off to the Recycle Bin or cyberspace without fanfare or comment. Sucks, doesn't it??? Plus, traffic has about tripled. That means more 'stuff' for the Recycle Bin, too. We haven't seen the Sun for over two weeks now, but that's because of clouds, not living so freaking far north that the sun is totally blocked out for weeks at a time from the Earth's Axis position. If it had been intended that people live that far north, there would have been large insects evolved that thrive in bitter, unrelenting, unending cold and glow like a firefly, only brighter, all winter long so folks like you don't get light deprevation depression syndrome or something. But alas, poeple insist on living in unlivable zones on this planet, which is good or there probably would be too many people in China. Run, don't walk, to the nearest Sun Lamp. Cool fish hats. my muskie over the fireplace wore one for a week, too, but I took it off when it got all tangled up with a Perka during the night. No idea what that lure and that muskie were up to, but it was obviously 'no good'. Happy Holidays, sir, a bit late but not TOO awful bad. I suppose the internet there is slower, due to freeze up. Sponge left us (mostly) for ROCKFISH, for goodness sake!! What the hell do Rockfish have to do with Coca Cola and Paydays??? You know, the weird part about this is most folks reading this don't know or understand the ABSOLUTE wonder of Sponger, Doc Esox, and Buckster321. Don't be such a stranger.

Posts: 384 Location: Eagle River, Alaska | Steve...you are up late....go to bed. So the Sponger doesn't post at all.....or just much more infrequently like me? I figured something had just pushed him off his precipice and he'd gone completely whacky. How could he give up the musky for those miserable stripers? I'm planning on doing some musky fishing in 2006....hopefully I'll be able to hop your way. You always have an open invite up here in Alaska. Did you send Slamr to some kind of touchy-feely brainwashing or something? Mike....the fishing up here is real darn good....but unbelievable, if you are near any road system can be quite crowded. Although you can find some pretty tranquil trout fishing starting in July away from the crowds. The salmon get much more attention. There is also great pike fishing up here, although you probably find plenty of those in your home waters. Halibut fishing is great....darkness in the winter kind of sucks but ya get used to it. There are always tradeoffs....but as long as there are fish....I'm happy. Heres a couple from last summer in a stream about an hour away. Posts: 303 Location: Valentine, NE USA | Ha! I was just thinking of the "pourous one" the other day, wondering if he'd make a new year's appearance...guess I conjured up the "other" spirit. Gawd, it's nice to see you guys visit the boards from time to time. I lived in Fairbanks for 2 years a decade ago so...savor the February sunrise. Take care man, and don't forget to load the fishing pistol. Brian Sanger SLM

Posts: 384 Location: Eagle River, Alaska | Ty....no sun and my Trojans did lose....despite my wearing my SC hat, shirt and slippers.....guess I better get SC boxers next time. Actually I love college football and have to admit the better team that night won the Rose Bowl. Texas was just too good and Pete Carroll needs to get a real defensive coordinator.....his defensive play calling sucked. Actually was in a very good mood today.....losing must have been cathartic. Brian The days are getting longer now.....although you really can't tell....it's the thought Edited by DocEsox 1/6/2006 1:08 AM

Posts: 32954 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Well, Doc, things look better for a trip out by you next year, on my way through Utah and before that, Wyoming. If you can get here in '06, that'd be cool, or maybe you could make the Wabigoon outing.
