Posts: 462 Location: Madison Wi. Chain | I need some help getting me through the winter months. Any good stories from last season to share. One of my highlights was meeting up with some fine musky hunters at the GOON this last summer. BG

Location: Athens, Ohio | Mauser and I were fishing down at Cave Run. Nothing much biting, so we were enjoying the scenery. We noticed a squirrel hopping around on the bank. Then, he ran out on a branch that extended over the water and retrieved a nut sitting out there. Whoosh! Out of the water came a mid-50's muskie, and all we saw of the squirrel was its tail in those mighty jaws as the fish disappeared in the water. Don't you know, a couple minutes later that muskie set that nut right back on the end of that branch! Merry Christmas, m

Posts: 32934 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | big gun, That evening on the Goon with the lure stuck on a rope, and the cast back and resulting BOOM was pretty cool. It's been awhile since I've seen a muskiethat far out of the water on a topwater strike. Mikie, that muskie COULD be one trained by the Nut crew... ![]()

Location: Athens, Ohio | Naw, but I tell you I had an experience down at a river in West Virginia. I was fishing with Mauser when we came around a bend and ran across a couple in a pontoon boat. This lady was crying her eyes out, so we stopped to see what was wrong. "Anything we can do, you all OK?" I asked. The man replied, "We'll be all right. Her pet poodle was running around the boat and bent down over one of the floats to get a drink. Some big ol' muskie came up and took him! She's pretty upset." Mauser replied, 'Sorry about your loss, lady, but tell me one thing: WHAT COLOR WAS THAT DOG?" happy new year, m

Posts: 94 | Hi Mikie I was fishing Green River this summer. We went up into a cove to fish and found a pontoon anchored in it. Never found out what color her dogs fur was, but we did learn what her fur color was. I don't know if that color would be good on a bucktail for muskie, but it sure hooked the dude on the boat with her. Chris

Posts: 355 Location: Wausau, Wisconsin | This year during the Wisconsin Musky Tour on Boom Lake my partner and I were all geared up from a good prefishing experience and a top ten finish last year. The bite was far from easy but the hardest thing to swallow was the following. My friends Marcus Malyuk and Ben Bain were use to fishing out of 20 year old bass boats that were as dark and dull as a conversation with Ozzy Osborne about deer hunting. This year they equipped themselves with a brand new bright yellow 20 foot Trion with 225 E-Tec. This in addition to their fancy tournament shirts vs last years "Did somebody fart?" shirts boosted their confidence, in driving. As Tom and I worked down a shoreline we looked to the horizon and mistaked their boat for the sun. They instantly were accross the lake and 100 feet in front of our pass to "say hi". I threw my Storm colored Suick .2 inches from their trolling motor as a friendly hello. Marcus yelled, "Nice bait! and tossed his Storm colored (we think alike about Women too) 2 inches from my trolling motor to demonstrate his equally good casting skills. Jerk, Wham, GOT ONE he yells! Crying wolf is a manditory action during a WMT. Then a 38" 3rd place musky comes thrashing at my feet and is pulled away from my Tuffy to their net. NICE. The next day I wasn't sure if I was going to recover from the previous day. We were fishing the WMT on Pelican lake and my 10th cast landed 2 feet behind a friends prop. Jerk, jerk, WHAM same thing, only this time is was mine. We followed up with another fish to beat Ben and Marcus in Team of the Year standings for 2 minutes. Then they brought in a 40" and pushed us back behind them. Yesterday we ice fished together...I caught way more 3" perch than he did!

Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Dont know if this is truely a fishing story but here it is... Fishing a shield lake among some islands in July. Using the electric t/m to move us along the island structure quietly while casting. As we come around the point of an island we hear surface water splashing about. As we cont'd we soon saw two 20 something females bathing au natural. My mind wants to say they were frollicking but they were quite lathered up. Hey wait!! That could still be considered.......... Sorry, I digress. At that same instant they saw us and then there was all kinds splashing going on as they ran for their towls which laid upon yonder rock. The young ladies were canoing/camping. So they said ![]() ![]() OHHHH I cant wait to get back on the water!!! Happy New Year to all. Be safe. Karl

2 men applied for the same job, one a college graduate with masters in business. the other, just an average, ordinary Joe like me and you. At the final step of the interview, they were both tied, and the manager could not figure out which one to hire. He then told them this, and as a tie breaker, the one that came up with the best spur of the moment poem would win. The poem had to rhyme, had to include the word Timbuktu, and had to be four lines..... College grad: "Once upon a desert sand There rode a lonely caravan Set upon the sky so blue Destination, Timbuktu." Joe though a moment, and nervously blurted out the following... "Tim and I, a'fishin we went, Spotted three lovelies in a tent, Them being three and us being two, I bucked one, and Timbuktu.
