| I am looking for info on an area in Minnesota where a guy could go camp at a centrally located lake and have an option of trailering to other lakes that aren't to awfully far away. Smaller lakes, like 1000-5000 acres. Preferably Remote locations out of the cities, is this possible???

| Take a hard look at walker
you can camp at leech lake,,new leeech lake campground or corp of Eng campground
and apart from leech your surrounded by all kinds of cool smaller lakes

wolf
slightly bigger ones
Iguadonna

women

and not all that far from

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Keep in mind, though, that if you try to fish Mann Lake, you better have a small 14 foot boat with a small motor in order to get there. you wont get any rig 16'or over under the bridge.

Location: Ames, Iowa | I would check out some of the resorts that are left on Leech for camping opportunities, as I have heard of folks getting boat items/camp equipment ripped off at FS campgrounds-particularly the campground at Stoney Point. Fed Dam is a beautiful campground, but I'd worry about overnight. Nice lakes in the area like Wabedo/ Little Boy, Baby (is it true those are Shoepack strain muskies in there), Boy, and Inguadona.

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | many years ago, baby was stocked with Shoepac muskies. To this day, it has stunted the growth of the fish. You'll be lucky to break 40 inches there. The lake (at least from my 25 years experience there) is in a major lull. Used to be you could see a bunch of fish in a couple hours, but now, you are lucky to see 2 or 3, let alone catch one. Lots of people fishing for ski's out there too...

| Size of fish in baby are small,,but its still one I like to hit once a year because its very pretty surroundings and lots of cool targets to cast at..bays an island,,reeds, lilly pads and a big rock reef in the main area |
