Guys,

I have a Minnkota Maxxum 55 Tiller that had the "teeth" broken off the tilt adjustment. Has anybody had this happen? If so did you get it fixed? Can it be fixed?

Thanks.

GMG- Just how fast were you going when you hit that underwater obstacle? Seriously, I'm sure someone probably has a puked Maxxum 55 - where the electronics or motor has crapped out. Maybe post a want ad in the buy/sell forum. I have a pair of MX65's I use on my 10' jon boat- "who needs a stinkin' outboard?" I also have third for spare parts- if the tilt mechanisim is the same (I suspect they may be the same)- you're welcome to it.

Good luck.

Go to bbcboards.zeroforum.com (bassboat central) and look for Jim Jones. He's the moderator on the electrical/trolling motor forum. Let him know what you need and he'll take care of you.

Thanks fellas...Esox, I made a critical mistake in judgement....I let a "friend" take my boat to guide some clients...it came back with a broken trolling motor, scratched to hell hull and a scuffed up lower unit. Lesson learned.
