Subject: Handheld GPS Recommendation?

I've joined my sister's consulting firm, "Fox Environmental" and our activities include water sampling in streams and rivers. I want to use a handheld GPS to help target and later document exact location of the water samples. I'm looking for a unit that comes with, or has the option of adding, detailed topo maps. As I begin my shopping, I wonder if you folks have any suggestions for consideration. Thanks for your help!

Ranger,
I am a wetland delineator and hand held GPS is essential to the work I do. I use a Trimble GEO-XT, which has real -time sub meter (3.5') accurracy. You can upload aerial photos, topo maps, shape files ect. These points can than be brought into AutoCad or ArcView GIS unit price with all the bells and whistles is around $10,000. PM me if you have questions
