Lambeau

The things we do to catch a muskie.

This was the Friday before deerhunting. It took 20 minutes to break the ice to get the rig launched. We missed one and got a little one.

Put the boat in today and winteized it. Pewaukee Lake is 1/2 locked up but the deeper West end will still be fishable through this weekend. I will be out tomarrow and Sunday in a pals boat if possible.

I am going out tomorrow and Sunday.....I don't have a dog to help keep me warm... maybe you should try a flying lure to get underneath that ice

WHERE IN THE HECK DID NOVEMBER GO??????????
This season was the first that I fished past the Bow Hunting opener, and I loved it. It looks like the real winters that we had groing up are trying to make a comeback. My buddy and I are trying to get out somewhere on Sunday, but I don't know if it will happen.

Fished yesterday morning for about 3 hours...surface water temp was 48.
I'm afraid that today was the last nice day for a while though. Storm moving in and bringing some colder weather w/ it. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the lower teens forecasted for the next 5 days or so. I'm still confident I'll have open water well into December however.

The end? Say it ain't so....

Gonna try to get out Sunday:

Sunday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high around 47. Southeast wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

I have one vacation day left this year. Thinking about using it Monday:

Monday: Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 55. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Looks like rain gear required both days.

Those are some AWESOME pix Lambeau! Wow! As much as I'd like to be out fishing in weather like that...I think you're staring the end in the face there...however..that water still looks open out in the middle....on the shoreline...maybe not so much.

Man...I'd love to have some snowy and wintery weather down here in Indy right now..to get me more in the festive holiday mood. We don't have anything like that going on, it's going to be in the mid 40s on Saturday and mid 60s by Monday again...go figure...

Those lakes better stay open for a couple more days. Gonna try to get out tomorrow, and should be able to get out Sunday - Tuesday with the warmer weather and rain. Mike, make sure to have that launch open for me tomorrow.

Awesome pics Lambeau!!!

I've been there Lambeau, there's something really cool about being on the water when it's actually freezing before your eyes and you are getting dumped on with a foot of snow. If you can tough it out you feel a sort of Viking sense of conquering a new sea or something. (Am I on good drugs or what?)

Gonna try to get out mon-wednesday in Madison for one last shot at a WI fatty then I guess I'm heading to Indiana to show TomCat how us WI boys sling baits!
Looking forward to it!

Lambeau,
Work on casting accuracy. (heh heh) Great pictures, sad story!
Fishcrazed and I got our first taste of near zero temperature musky fishing yesterday here in Indiana. (with wind chills an all) Constant iced up guides and spools. But 2 fat fish in the boat. Hooray for cold weather!
Sorry about the stiff water, man. You'll just have to move south I guess.

I chickened out and left the boat at home this wk end.

I've been threatening to bring the boat to WI deer camp and hunt in the morning and musky fish in the afternoon for a couple yrs now. This yr I vowed to follow through on that, but the temp never got above freezing the whole wk end and I left the boat at home.

I was really hoping for a shot a late season piggie, but now she will have to wait until May 2006.

Grass,
