Hi everyone, I'd like you to know about a future muskie fisherman that needs your help. This future muskie fisherman is a little boy named Ashton. Ashton was born with a double bi-lateral cleft palate; he will have a minimum of 8 surgeries over the next 7 years. He will not be able to speak until he is 7 or so, and will not get his 'hard palate' until that time. Ashton has one of the more serious forms of the birth defect, but it is fairly correctable with extensive plastic surgery. On Tuesday January 29th. at 7:00 pm CST MuskieFIRST.com will be the site of a "live" auction in the chat room hosted by myself and many special guests. We already have some great items donated and expect alot more.If you would like to donate an item or help out please contact me at [email protected] On the night of the auction please sign in the chat room with your MuskieFIRST registered name. | Steve, keep up the good work, looking forward to the 29th. Now we need everyone to tell all their friends to bring their checkbooks with them on the 29th as there will be a lot of goodies up for grabs. A lot of nice trips also. P.S. There may just be one of those custom 10" Jakes in my lure package.[;)] | |||

| I would like to give a testimonial for Item #22. Not only will you have a blast fishing with Oneida, I spend about 75% of my time on the water with him. I have also had the privilege of the offered meal after a long day of fishing. It is AWESOME. I don’t think you could find a better meal anywhere in any restaurant. The person/persons who get this item will have a very good time. Also Items 7 and 8 are a good find, I don’t yet have my hands on a Louie, but have heard great things about them. The Twitchers have been great for me. Nail A Pig! Mike | |||

| That's a great idea Steve as first we will have to many items to auction off in a decend amount of time. As well this way the larger items will go for a much better price. There will be a lot of goodies auctioned off on the 29th and we will just have to wait a week for the big stuff thats all. [:sun:] | |||

| Update on Ashton From the Muskiegoddess!! "Ashton had his first surgery on Thursday, January 17th at 7:30 A.M. He was in surgery for three long hours. They put his lip together (no easy feat-it was a lot more involved than just sewing it together), sewed his nostrils the way they should have been and attached his nose to his gum line as it should have been. The surgeons then put tubes in his ears after sucking a lot of fluid from his middle ear. He looks terrific, albeit stitches around his nostrils and middle upper lip. But I must say, I miss how he was, that was the face I originally loved and will miss his wide smile!! He looks like a regular little boy now, and is even more handsome than he was. His arms are in little restraints, to keep him from damaging any of the work the surgeons did. And I must say he does not like them!! His first couple of days home were very hard for us all, as he was very inconsolable and cried almost constantly, until he exhausted himself and went to sleep. Then a friend mentioned something in passing to me and I in turn mentioned it to my daughter. When her son had gotten tubes in his ears, he kept them covered and told everyone to quit shouting. So we turned the lights low, kept our voices down, muted as many household sounds as we could, and low and behold, he quieted down. My "Little Trooper" has lived in a muffled world for his first 3 1/2 months and was in sensory overload, he's not used to hearing every little sound. Now he is adjusting slowly and everyone is getting happier again. Occassionally he even graces us with his new smile, and what a nice smile it is to see. Today he is back in Madison for his first post-operative exam, and I am waiting patiently to hear from my daughter about how it went. Next week they have to go back again, and we'll see where this goes from there. Hopefully they will take his little arm restraints off then. Let him enjoy his new found freedoms!!! He still has other problems, but we are coping with them. He is allergic to any fabrics that are not 100% cotton, and finding him clothes is a chore. That and he is only 3 1/2 months old and is already wearing 12 month old clothes. He is one tall drink of water! His next surgery is in October 2002. At that time the surgeons will build him a soft palate. I don't know what that will all entail, but I will keep you posted on his continued progress. Again thank you for all the prayers, donations and continued support. We don't know what we would have done without it and thankfully we didn't have too. What a GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE YOU TRULY ARE!!! From the Bottoms of Our Heart Thank You All! Sincerely, Ashton Janka aka "Little Trooper" Layla Janka aka "Little Trooper's Big Sister" Teresa Janka aka "My Daughter" Jared Janka aka "My Son-in-Law" Jody Holbrook aka "Muskiegoddess" aka "Grandma" | |||

| steve, I just wanted to say that the crankbait is 13" (32cm) long. But if the buyer prefers another length, I can change it to one of these lengths: 6", 7", 9" Good luck and I hope the auction raises a great deal of money for Ashton! | |||
