Posts: 1289 Location: WI | New here, but I've been reading and reading and reading. I'm surprised I havn't seen anyone mention Smity baits, I love their jerk baits and have caught a lot of skies' on them. Also what's a Weagle? This one is around 9 inches long, I use long, jerks (not fast and short) and have caught at least 4 (I think) that way with this one. I also have one that is shorter with a similar color that I've had a follow on. The only fish I caught on that one was a smallmouth bass around 18inches or so. Even though they weren't legal, I caught 2 skies' on 3 casts with this lure! I don't see too many of them in the stores where I live and have been told they don't sell well. I usually grab em if I can spare the cash. Edited by JKahler 11/19/2005 9:31 PM

Posts: 122 Location: Kenosha, Wi. | Hi there, If this bait has a black stripe down the back it is the dynamite stick color and if not is the jawbreaker color. I use Smity jerk baits almost exclusively and have had great success on them, they are definitely my confidence bait. Smity also has a website at smitybait.com

Posts: 723 | jkahler, you have just let the cat out of the bag! I love smitys, a guy (jomusky)I know says they are a CRUDE bait and thats true but hey they catch fish for me and my partner consistently. I sometimes have to do some fine-tuning to them to get them to swing right or let them soak up a little water to perform, but nothing beats one if you can get them to bellyroll and swing at the same time, those are the precious smitts. you just sometimes have to buy more than one to find a really good one.
