The year's not closed yet...still have tomorrow afternoon .
We only had slightly over an hour tonight, so I twised his arm and hit a couple of honey holes in rapid succession. Nothing at the first one so we decided to hit spot #2 working into the blistering 2 mph wind. I would guess that he stuck it about 40 minutes into the trip. Nice fish. I even remembered my camera tonight, but in the excitement, I forgot to use it, so pics won't be available (lambeau's camera) until Sunday night at the earliest. These pics will be worth the wait - I promise.
And as an interesting sidenote - he brought 3 lures, yeah, 3. All 3 caught fish. I have a whole boatload of cr@p and haven't gotten but a single hit (didn't last long either). Not sure what he's going to use tomorrow...
Sorno

No fish pic yet, but just to set the atmosphere...

i haven't stopped laughing yet.

i called Sorno this afternoon and said, "my brain's full." so i cut out of the afternoon session at my conference and he bagged it from work so we could catch the last hour of light.
having recently reviewed the "1-2 Punch for Fall" article in MHM, we decided to focus on green weeds and the cisco migration. then we remembered that we're in the mountains and there are no green weeds here and there are no ciscoes either. so we went back to fishing some willow scrub that was in the water along the shore where we'd contacted fish last Tuesday. we debated whether the larger fish were feeding on perch or carp. Sorno thinks perch, i think carp. he's a fisheries biologist, i'm a therapist. so i've been able to help him feel better about himself and the fact that he's wrong.
i was throwing the Bobbie because it was the one lure of my three that didn't have a fish in the net.
Sorno made some comment about "mojo" to which i replied, "come on Bob, show me some mojo!"
"fish! fish!" she stayed down, leading me to say, "it's a good one" to which Sorno replies, "i think it's a carp."

great fish, great place, great friend...great time.
and i'm having fun.
and i'm taking pictures.
and they have mountains in the background.

(sorry for the tease...i'll upload sunday night when i get home)

That's awesome Lambeau! It's really nice to see you had a great last month to your season, hopefully the mojo will carry on to next spring.

I think we spent too much time today looking for green weeds...
We had a good time this afternoon; Nik went along and shared much of his advice.
The fish, however, refused to be impressed. He shoulda brought more lures...
Sorno
Pics tomorrow. With fish.
