Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | I am looking to expand my crankbait collection this winter. I have read very good things about both of these baits but have never used them. Anyone have any opinions on these? I see the Legend is aproxx $50 so I want to know if it's worth it before I decide to spend away.. If you know where I can find the Wiley, please advise. I didn't see them available on Thornes web site... I can wait to the shows this winter if they are going to be available then.. Thank's Mike

Posts: 203 Location: Germantown, WI | I can verify the fish catching ability of Wiley crankbaits. I've caught muskies trolling the 8" Straight Musky King, the 6" Deep Diver, the 6" Jointed Musky King and the Headshaker. The 5 1/2" Musky Killer is also good too if you can find them both as a casting and trolling bait. The baits are well made, troll at virtually any speed and simply catch fish. They are made by Muskies Inc member Dale Wiley from the Three Rivers Chapter. My brother is a member of that chapter and Dale is a standup guy who donates a lot of lures to the club. I've caught more 40"+ muskies on the Perch color 6" Wiley Deep Diver than any other bait in my (many) tackle boxes. I know that Wiley lures are available from the following online sources because I've bought them from all of them: Musky Thrills (direct source of wiley lures), Rollie and Helen's Musky Shop, and Smokey's Musky Shop. I know that Legends are good too and are also made by a Three Rivers Muskies Inc member. I've got a couple of Perch Baits, but have not used them much. If you are doing any deep trolling, i.e. 25'+ the Legend Plow is probably a must have. I know that they are very popular up in the Buffalo Harbor area and on Georgian Bay. That's my 2 cents. Good fishing. Tom Ramsey member Milwaukee chapter Muskies Inc.

They sell proven products that will catch giants if fished intelligently. They are certainly a couple of the top baitmakers in Pennsylvania. You won't be disappointed in their products. Best, PS
