Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | Hi all as promised here is a few pictures from todays stocking of Leech Lake strain muskies on Lake Monona. Thanks goes to Cory Painter and his committee getting this done. Also to the clubs involved like Oregon Muskie Busters, Blackhawk, Flatlander MI, and the many members of the Capital City Chapter of MI. The trucked stopped and we transported them to a holding pen. From there the got their fin clipped and into a stock tank in the boat. Then out to the lake and dropped into the lake. ENJOY! Nice pictures Muskie Nut. Over 700 Leech Lake strain fingerlings - that is great! This was an excellent start to the 5 yr study & experiment. Many thanks to the members and donors of the Capital City and Flatlanders Chapter of Muskies Inc, Oregon Muskybusters and the Blackhawk Muskie Club from Janesville and the WDNR. That's a lot of seminars and fundraisers to come up with enough cash to stock that many fish. Every club member, volunteer and donor who helped raise the money to do this should be complimented. With the 45" minimum regulation in effect for Lake Monona and Waubesa hopefully many of them will grow to be very strong and healthy and in the 50"+ range.

Great job like Capital City Chapter, Oregon Muskie Busters, Blackhawk, and the Flatlanders MI. Special thanks need to go out to Cory Painter who has been involved in this from the start and to WI DNR Biologist Scot Stewart who was a help to this project everywhere it's happening in the state. Scot Stewart is a great guy and your lucky to have him there working with you. Fred J
