i have some old lead sinkers...are the worthanything or am i better melting them?I think there like like from the 70's or earlyer.

Does anybody know on this.

If they have a clearly identifiable marking that could establish manufacturer and a date back in the early 1900's, maybe some. The metal market in fishing collectables is usually not all that stellar. If they are unmarked plain weights, I would probably melt them down. For stuff like this, the package is more valuable than the product alot of times. People collect sinker tins and all kinds of paraphanelia. Never heard of anyone collecting weights but somebody might like them if they are unique looking.

Unless they look cool, I would probably throw them in the coffee can.

If you have the containers, as FSF said, they might have value if very old. From the 70's, probably not.
